Places to Visit:
- Goreme Panorama- A quick stop in this place to see the panoramic view of Cappadocia where landscapes of different shapes can be seen. This place is situated few minutes away from Goreme.
- Kaymakli Underground City- Contained within the citadel of Kaymakli in the Central Anatolia Region of Turkey. First opened to tourists in 1964.
- The ancient name was Enegup. Caves may have first been built in the soft volcanic rock by the Phrygians, an Indo-European People in the 8th-7th century BC.
- The city was greatly expanded and deepened in the Easter Roman era, when it was used for protection from Muslim Arab raids during the four centuries of Arab-Byzantine wars. The city was connected with Derinkuyu Underground City through miles of tunnels. These cities continued to be used by the Christian inhabitants as protection from the Mongolian incursions of Timur in the 14th Century.
- Selime Monastery- Formerly known as Salamis. In these fairy chimneys lived Christians fleeing from Romans. When Christianity was accepted in Rome, churches and cathedrals were built here. There is a battle hill there. Also, since this place was under the rule of Ottoman for many years, the Ottoman built Sinan Bey Mosque here.
- Selime is one of the chimneys of volcano heights od Hasan Mountain. This is a region where the precursor material cold tuffs that come out and cover a large area, then the tuffs that came into contact with volcanic heat, and then the materials that flow from the cratersand spread over the flat plain and from a layer cetain of thickness is here. Natural events occuring over many million of years erosion, earthquakes, annual temperatures difference, snow, rain, wind and Melendiz stream passing nearby has provided this region with a magnificent natural look.
- Ihlara Valley- The town Ihalra been formerly known Chlorus during the Roman and Bynzantine period. The name was later rendered as Chliara. It consists of 14 km along the North South Melendiz river, which runs from Selime to Ihlara Village. 16 of the valley's 105 churches are open to visitors, and most of them are within 1km of the official valley entrance in Ihlara.
- What makes the valley unique is the ancient history of its inhabitants. The whole canyon is honeycombed with rock-cut underground dwellings and churches from the Bynzantine period built by the Cappadocian Greeks. The people were forced to leave the area and move to Greece in 1923 population exchange between Turkey and Greece.
- Pigeon Valley- An essential part of the list of a must to see places in Cappadocia. It is located between Uchisar and Goreme. The nests carved into the rocks for pigeons in the valley continue to host many species of Pigeons today. In th valley which has a length of approximately 4100 meters, there is a 10-15 meter high waterfall that fascinates every visitor.
- It can also be explored by a bird's eye view Uchisar Castle, one of the most popular destinations in Cappadocia, greets the valley from above.
- Precious Stone House- This places showcases one of the most precious stones in Cappadocia. Onyx in different shapes and used as a jewelry can be found there. Onyx is considered a stone of protection and strngth. It is believed to balance energies and promote stability and harmony.
